When you think about why you're not working out right now what comes to mind? For many people it is time as well as money. Well a simple solution to both of these problems is making yourself a home gym. It's not that hard and with a little money and hard work you can turn a garage or any room in your house into a fully functional gym! This article will be the first article of many on tips and tricks to building your home gym as well as give you an over view of how to go about this. I will keep adding links to this as I write more and more hubs about choosing equipment for your own home gym! Lets get started.

Home Gym Basics

Below will be a constantly growing list of hubs on items that are needed for a complete home gym. There will be much information and I will try my best to order the links in order of most to least importance. Of course this is my opinion but I do have quite a bit of knowledge on the subject seeing as I currently work out in my basement 5 days a week. Building a home gym can be very rewarding as well as very convenient. Not being able to make it to the gym will be just one less excuse you can't use for not reaching your fitness goals! The hardest part of building a home gym is finding the space for the gym but after you are done there all you have to worry about is making sure you find good deals on equipment witch we will go over in a second.

Finding Good Deals on Gym Equipment

Now I know there are a few people out there who have no problem dropping a few grand on a new gym and getting all the greatest equipment out there, however for the rest of us finding good deals will be essential. In the hubs that are to come I will try to give tips for that type of equipment. However here are some basic tips on finding cheap work out equipment.

Finding Stuff on Craig's List, Ebay, and Yard sales

Finding Cheap workout equipment can be as easy as buying used. I would recommend this only for the non mechanical stuff such as dumbbells and benches. I would not recommend this for cardio equipment just for the simple fact that it is a higher likely hood that it will break or be of lower quality.

Sales

Many times gyms will have sales to clear out old equipment and these are a great place to find great deals. Also keep your eye out for deals at local fitness shops as well as online, just watch out for shipping costs!
